- Picking your size – Choose your size from the waist measurements in the Size Chart above. The finished measurements above are for the Belt laid out flat.
- Adjusting the length – You can lengthen the Ties if you would prefer a longer length Belt.
- If you get stuck with fitting, see our favorite resources on our Pinterest Sewing Fitting Advice board.
- Mid-heavy weight interfacing for structure – approximately ¼ yard will be sufficient for all sizes
- Thread to match
- The Reversible Wrap Around Belt is designed to be cut with the grainline running vertically down the pattern piece. For most pattern pieces, grainlines are really important, and I would not suggest altering them. However, this design hangs straight with no bias cut or draping sections. If you are using a woven fabric or a knit/stretch with good recovery and less than 50% stretch, you can safely turn the pattern piece, so it runs down the fabric (e.g. the grainline runs across the pattern piece) without altering the look of the finished garment or compromising the fit. Before cutting, hold your fabric up in this direction and check if you like how it hangs.
- Alternatively, if you are using a fabric this does not work with, you can split your Reversible Wrap Around Belt pattern pieces. To do this, divide the pattern piece in half and cut with 2 mirror image pieces. Make sure to add a ½ inch seam allowance to the center front. Then join this either with a French seam or sew and then finish with a serger.
- Front – Main cut 1 on fold, Lining cut 1 on fold, Interfacing cut 1 on fold
- Ties – Main cut 2 on fold, Lining cut 2 on fold

Our Facebook group is a great place to get help, share your tips and creations! We are a friendly bunch, and we love to help and see what you have made.
Please read the full instructions before getting started.
Wash, dry, and press your fabric before starting your project. A bit of prep now prevents shrinking and means your garment will stay the same size you made it.
Never leave a child or baby unattended or allow to sleep in a garment made from one of our patterns with ties, snaps, buttons, or anything they could remove, choke on, or get caught on. Always use caution if you are unsure. We love our patterns, but we love your bundles of joy more!

Fitting NotesThe Reversible Wrap Around Belt is wrapped around your waist and tied together. It is wider at the front than at the back.
Materials and ToolsYou will need a non-stretch woven fabric for the Reversible Wrap Around Belt. Cotton, quilting cotton, denim, or cotton lawn are good choices. You can use the same fabric for your main and lining.
The Ties pieces for sizes 11 to 13 are too wide to fit across 45 inch / 115cm wide fabric. They require 60 inch / 150cm wide fabric. If you wish to use a 45 inch wide fabric, and it is a woven fabric there are a few other options you could follow. See the Cutting Instructions for how to deal with these.

* If you are using a narrower fabric, a directional print, or a fabric with nap you may need more.
** Make sure to wash, dry, and press all fabrics before cutting out in case they shrink. You will also need:
Tools needed are sewing machine, iron, pins/clips, tailors chalk or disappearing ink pen, scissors, tape measure, and a ruler.
Printing Your PatternSettings
The pattern is a separate download. Choose either the US letter paper, A4 paper, or A0 paper size based on the printer you wish to use. If you are in the US or Canada then your printer will likely use US letter paper. Other regions normally use A4 paper. Some people prefer to print their patterns at a print shop: A0 is best in this case.
Print at 100%.
On the second page, you will find a 1-inch and a 3-inch square test box. Print this page first, on its own, and measure these squares.
Once you are happy that the test box is accurate, print the rest of the pattern pages.
Please follow this video for information and assistance on assembling this pattern.
Also, please note that some Rebecca Page patterns and projects also come with cut files and a printable design page which you can use to plan your project if you wish. These are provided in a separate section below to avoid any confusion!

If you are making a size 11 to 13 and using a 45 inch wide fabric, you will find your Reversible Wrap Around Belt pattern pieces do not fit across your fabric. You have two choices:
Cutting Checklist:
NOTE – To cut fabric on the fold, fold your fabric over parallel to the selvage edges. Align the pattern piece so it is on the fold of the fabric. Cut around the edges, leaving the fold. If you have folded your fabric correctly the fold will be parallel to the two edges of the fabric that are finished. The raw edges (e.g. the ones you could pick at and threads would come off) will be at a right angle to your fold.
- + Instructions
- INTERFACING – Apply interfacing onto Main Front.
- ATTACHING THE TIES – Stitch the Main Ties to the Main Front, right sides together at each short straight edge. Repeat for Tie and Front Lining.
- JOINING THE MAIN AND LINING – Place Main Belt and Belt Lining right sides together. Stitch leaving a gap. Clip corners and curves. Turn and press. Topstitch.

0.1Interfacing
Using the manufacturer’s instructions, iron interfacing onto the Main Front.
OPTIONAL – Depending on the weight of your fabric you may wish to interface the Main Ties.
1 . Attaching the Ties1.1Lay the Main Front right sides facing out. Place the Main Tie at the short straight edge, right sides together. Pin.
1.2Stitch using a ½ inch seam allowance.
1.3Repeat steps 1.1 to 1.2 to attach the second Main Tie to the other short straight edge.
Repeat steps 1.1 to 1.3 to attach both Tie Linings to the Front Lining.
2 . Joining the Main and Lining2.1Place the Main Belt and Belt Lining, right sides together. Pin all edges, leaving a 2-3 inch gap on the Front for turning.
TIP – Lay the side seam allowances of the Main Front and Front Lining in opposite directions, as shown here. This will reduce bulk at the seam.
2.2Stitch using a ½ inch seam allowance.
2.3Clip the corners and notch the curves of the Front.
OPTIONAL – Trim the seam allowances approximately in half along the straight edges of the Ties.
2.4Turn the Belt right side out through the gap. Press the seams.
TIP – Push out the corners with a blunt object, like a chopstick, so that there are crisp, sharp edges and corners.
2.5Topstitch around the edges using ¼ inch seam allowance, closing the gap you left to turn.
ALTERNATIVE: Use a slip stitch to close the gap if you would prefer not to topstitch.
